QR food ordering for pickup and on-site dining

Offer a location-specific QR menu for pickup or on-site dining. Verify full payment before releasing order lines for kitchen preparation.

How Makinari helps QR food ordering for pickup and on-site dining

A café or restaurant can share an active location’s QR code so customers order physical menu products with compatible variants and extras. Self-service supports pickup and on-site dining, not shipping or service reservations. Configure self-service fulfillment choices and publish products eligible for that location. The location link does not identify a buyer: an anonymous order must not be attributed to an account, and optional identification requires the customer’s valid personal account QR.

An order with a positive balance starts pending, without a recorded payment and with draft kitchen lines. Its confirmation lets the customer open mobile card payment or ask staff to collect cash at the register. Only fully verified payment releases the lines; a server-calculated zero total is the exception. Staff continue preparation in Orders and Order Lines and use configured printers. Payment does not mean the food is prepared or served, and an uncertain attempt needs review before repeating an order or collecting again.

Key Workflows

  • Save the location, enable pickup or on-site dining and share its QR with an eligible physical-product menu, variants and extras.
  • Create a pending menu order and use its confirmation for mobile card payment or record full cash payment through POS.
  • After payment verification, review Orders and Order Lines, print through configured printers and advance preparation through customer handoff.

Potential operational benefits

Location-linked self-service orders, payment kept separate from preparation and a kitchen queue that is not released by a browser confirmation alone.

Results depend on your process, data quality and configuration.
